The Corporation consists of members from all walks of life and a cross section of the communities which it serves including staff, the Students’ Union President and four additional student governors.
The City of Sunderland College is a Statutory Corporation set up by order of the Secretary of State under the Further and Higher Education Act and is governed by its Instrument and Articles of Government. The College is also an exempt charity. Upon merger with Northumberland College on 22 March 2019, the City of Sunderland College started trading at a group level as Education Partnership North East, and at the college level as Sunderland College, Hartlepool Sixth Form and Northumberland College.
