Northumberland College

Northumberland College is the largest training provider in Northumberland with centres across the county in Ashington, Kirkley Hall, Berwick, Blyth, Newcastle and Hexham.

The College achieved a grade two Ofsted result in June 2017. Over recent years, the College has invested over £14million in new facilities at its sites, including a £2.5 million STEM Centre at its Ashington campus.
The college offers hundreds of vocational courses and a wide range of apprenticeship programmes to individuals and employers throughout the North East region.

The local area

Northumberland is considered one of England’s great counties. It has a beautiful coastline with fantastic beaches, unrivalled scenery, globally significant tourist attractions including Hadrian’s Wall, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a thriving culture and festival scene, and picturesque market towns.

It is the least populated county in England with almost 320,000 inhabitants sharing less than 2,000 square miles. Around a quarter of the county is protected as Northumberland National Park and is an area of natural beauty.

The east coast mainline and the A1 means that Northumberland is well connected. The high rate of employment, affordable house prices and welcoming communities offer an unrivalled quality of life.

Ashington Campus

Our campus in Ashington is Northumberland College’s largest campus and is where most vocational courses are based. Industry standard facilities include a new digital academy and simulated health ward. It’s located a 20-minute walk from the town centre: College Road. Ashington, NE63 9RG.

Kirkley Hall

Our rural campus at Kirkley Hall, set in the beautiful Northumberland countryside, is home to our animal and land-based education and training. We even have our own zoo! It is located a 10-minute drive from Ponteland: Ponteland, Northumberland, NE20 0AQ.

Berwick Campus

Our new multi-million pound investment programme will see our Berwick Campus transformed into a modern, state-of-the art building. The campus is only a short drive from the town centre: 16 Adams Drive, Spittal, Berwick-upon-Tweed, TD15 2JG.
