Find out moreEducation Partnership North East’s curriculum and support staff have developed innovative online learning methods for students to continue their studies at home, be engaged and motivated in their learning and to provide ongoing support.
Access to Higher Education lecturer Monica Pizzoli was one of the first members of staff to ask for systems to be put in place so she could work – and teach – remotely. Monica has been supporting her students online by blending use of the Access to Higher Education course site on Moodle with Microsoft Teams as a communication channel.
Students has been provided with activities and resources to work through online such as documents and presentations, assignment briefs, eBooks and eJournals as well as convenient methods of assignment submission.
Monica is also using a ‘Bookings’ calendar plugin within Teams to allow students to book in one-to-one support sessions with her each day. This has allowed her to give each student live, real-time video support at times that suit each individual. This is in addition to the live online lessons via Teams meetings.
